Christmas is a wonderful time of year, if you participate.
If you just let it go by, it can be a distraction and simply annoying. “It’s all gaudy decorations, the same songs over and over and over-the-top sentimentalism,” you might say with a “bah humbug.”
I know the magic! It fills me with joy. I can’t help singing, and overdecorating and crying at every Christmas movie. It’s because I have found the secret to the Spirit. Christmas is about Christ and being like Him. Oh none of us is perfect, but you don’t have to be. Just try it, and you will see that the more you give the more you get until there is no where else for it to go except all over in a joyous outpouring of cheer and hope and merriment and love. Yes, it is about love! Love is at the heart of all of it.
